LAWLESS TESTIMONIAL
Stevie Lawless Testimonial Match is Tomorrow Night

Friday 14th November | The Wyre Stadium at Firhill | 7:45 PM
It’s set to be a special night in Maryhill as Partick Thistle celebrate one of their own — Steven Lawless — when the Jags welcome St Mirren for his well-deserved testimonial match under the Wyre Stadium at Firhill lights.
Lawless, a fans’ favourite across two spells at the club, has given everything in red and yellow, and this Friday offers the perfect chance for supporters to say thank you. Expect a lively atmosphere, a few familiar faces, and a fitting tribute to one of the most popular players of Thistle’s modern era.
Mark Wilson’s side come into the match off the back of a hard-fought 1–1 draw away to Airdrieonians last Friday. It was a contest that demanded patience and persistence, with Oisín Smyth striking late in stoppage time to rescue a point after Euan Henderson had put the Diamonds ahead. The result added another unbeaten match to this season’s tally and showed once again the character within this squad.
With spirits high and the focus turning from league points to celebration, Firhill will be bouncing as the Jags host St Mirren for what promises to be an emotional and entertaining occasion in honour of a true Jag./

As well as being on sale at the St Mirren game, Stevie Lawless pins will be available for Jags Foundation members to buy through their dedicated online shop at The Jags Foundation from Saturday 15 November, priced £10.

Partick Thistle 5–0 St Mirren
Saturday 22nd July 2017 | The Wyre Stadium at Firhill | Betfred Cup Group H
Partick Thistle produced a dazzling attacking display to sweep aside St Mirren back in 2017, earning their first win of that season’s League Cup campaign.
Kris Doolan opened the scoring before Steven Lawless struck twice, each goal displaying his trademark creativity and composure. Blair Spittal added free-kickS either side of half-time, netting his first goals for the club in what became a five-star performance from Alan Archibald’s side.
Even after Abdul Osman was sent off, the Jags continued to dominate, finishing the match with flair and confidence as Firhill rocked to the sound of celebration.
It’s a result fondly remembered by supporters — and fittingly, one that featured the man whose career we now celebrate: Steven Lawless, forever a Jag.

CHANGE AT PARTICK THISTLE WOMEN
DAVID ELLIOT DEPARTS AND GARY HOLT JOINS

Partick Thistle can confirm that David Elliot has stepped down from his role as Head Coach of the Women’s First Team.
David initially joined the coaching staff towards the end of last season before taking on the Head Coach position over the summer, guiding the team through a period of transition for the club.
We would like to thank David for his hard work and dedication during his time in charge and wish him all the very best for the future.
Partick Thistle Women’s CEO Caroline Mackie said:
“David leaves with our immense gratitude for everything he has given to the team over the past few months. He is always welcome back at Petershill Park — and, of course, at Firhill — where he remains a huge fans’ favourite from his playing days with the men’s side.”
Gary Holt appointed Women’s Manager

“We’re delighted to welcome Gary to the football club. His experience and coaching record speak for themselves. His enthusiasm to drive this club forward and develop players was clear to see from the very first conversation we had with him.
“We look forward to working and supporting him as much as we can as he leads the club forward”

THE RED LION
Loyalty versus ambition: Who wins? Thistle helps out with The Paper Hat Theatre’s ‘The Red Lion’

We have teamed up with Paper Hat Theatre to help with the production of ‘The Red Lion’ at Theatre 118 which is based at 118 Osborne Street, Glasgow G1 5QH.
Seventeen yellow Jags first team jerseys with red pin stripes were recently loaned to Paper Hat to be used in multi award-winning writer Patrick Marber’s intense play that thrusts audiences into the locker room of a non-league football club, where the arrival of a star recruit sparks a generational conflict between a veteran kit man and a ruthless manager, each with their own vision of success.
