FRIDAY = AIRDRIEONIANS
Next Up: Airdrieonians vs Partick Thistle
Friday 7th November |Albert Bartlett Stadium | 7:45 PM
The Jags are back under the lights this Friday night as Mark Wilson’s men make the short trip to the Albert Bartlett Stadium to face Airdrieonians in the William Hill Scottish Championship.
Confidence in the Thistle camp is high after last weekend’s resounding 5–0 home Glasgow Derby victory over Queen’s Park. It was a result and a performance that not only delighted the Red and Yellow faithful but also showed that the previous weekend’s result at Raith Rovers had been shaken off.
Now, attention turns to Airdrie and the challenge of maintaining momentum away from home. The Diamonds have shown plenty of grit and organisation in recent weeks so the Jags’ men are well warned.
For Wilson’s side, the aim is clear — build on their attacking rhythm, stay defensively solid, and keep pressure on the teams looking to be at the top of the table. Expect a lively away following in Lanarkshire as the Jags look to extend their fine form and prove once again why the West End is the Best End
Partick Thistle 2–1 Airdrieonians
Friday September 12 2025 | The Wyre Stadium at Firhill
Partick Thistle showed real spirit and determination to come from behind and claim all three points in a battling win over Airdrieonians at Firhill.
The visitors struck first through former Jag Cole McKinnon, who fired home from distance inside three minutes to stun the home support. Thistle found chances hard to come by in a scrappy first half, but as the game wore on, Mark Wilson’s side began to turn the screw.
The equaliser arrived on 77 minutes when Dan O’Reilly rose highest to nod in an Aidan Fitzpatrick corner — a goal that shifted the momentum firmly Thistle’s way. Just five minutes later, substitute Alex Samuel pounced in the box to slam home the winner and complete the turnaround.
It wasn’t the slickest performance of the season, but it was full of heart, resilience, and belief — qualities that define this Thistle side. The victory keeps the Jags level on points at the top of the table heading into Friday’s fixture, with the promotion race heating up nicely.

MARK WILSON
Mark Wilson Manager of the Month

The progress that Partick Thistle have made this season has been recognised with Mark Wilson being chosen as the Glen’s Vodka Championship Manager of the Month for October.
The Jags drew level with St Johnstone during October after consecutive wins over Ayr United and Ross County in the space of three days before ending the month just three points off top spot.
Wilson’s side have earned plaudits for their attack minded approach with goals coming from defenders, midfielders and attackers with their good form carrying on into November with Queen’s Park seen off 5-0 on Saturday.

Thereafter, Jamie signed his two-year modern apprenticeship with the club in June and indeed featured against Glenafton when we made the trip to New Cumnock in pre-season.
