GREENOCK MORTON
Next Up: Greenock Morton vs Partick Thistle
Saturday 11th October | Cappielow Park | 3:00 PM
The Jags make the short journey to Cappielow this weekend as Mark Wilson’s side look to keep their fine run of form going in the William Hill Scottish Championship.
Sitting second in the table and unbeaten in seven William Hill Championship outings, Thistle head into this clash full of confidence after a strong start to the campaign. The Wyre Stadium at Firhill has been a fortress so far this season, but Wilson’s men have also shown their steel away from home — something they’ll need once again in Greenock.
Morton, currently mid-table, have proved tough to break down with a series of tight encounters and will no doubt be up for the battle on home turf. The Jags, though, have found a rhythm both in defence and attack, and with creative sparks like Logan Chalmers and Aidan Fitzpatrick in form, the travelling Red and Yellow Army will be hoping to see another decisive performance.
The support on the road has been outstanding this season — and once again, your backing could make all the difference as Thistle look to keep pace at the top of the Championship table.
The Jags’ last visit to Cappielow came on Saturday 29th March 2025, when Daniel O’Reilly’s powerful header earned all three points in a narrow 1–0 victory.
After a cagey first half, Thistle found the breakthrough on 74 minutes when Kyle Turner’s pinpoint free-kick was met bravely and perfectly by O’Reilly, whose header nestled beyond Morton goalkeeper Ryan Mullen to send the away support into celebration.
That win made it six games unbeaten for Thistle under the interim management team of Brian Graham and Mark Wilson, consolidating their place in the top four and showcasing the grit and quality that defined the side during that spring run-in.
It’s a result that still lingers fondly in the memory — and one the Jags will be eager to repeat when they return to Greenock this weekend.

SURVEY
Help define Partick Thistle’s identity
We are undertaking work to clearly define and articulate the identity of our club, which will help us communicate what Partick Thistle stands for more effectively going forward.
We need your help to shape that, as no one can define Partick Thistle better than its supporters. We’re inviting fans to take part in our identity survey by answering a series of questions on how they perceive the club.
Your answers will help us understand what Thistle means to people and what we stand for, as well as shape how the club carries itself in the future.
In return for taking part, you will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three great prizes:
- A home shirt signed by the 2025/26 men’s first team squad
- Two tickets to our Boardroom for a Scottish Championship fixture
- Two tickets to a Scottish Championship fixture of your choice
It’s your club. Take 20-30 minutes to tell us what makes Thistle, Thistle.

SEVEN WEALTH
Seven Wealth Player of the Month for September

The league points continued to stack up for Mark Wilson’s Partick Thistle during September with the second month of the Championship campaign proving to be a hugely successful one.
It started with a come-from-behind victory over Airdrieonians in front of the BBC Scotland cameras at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill before a bit of something different as the Jags hosted Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals, the Hoops winning the game 4-0.
That didn’t derail the Maryhill Men though and on their return to league duty they were 2-0 winners at KDM East End Park against Dunfermline, following that up with another away win and clean sheet three days later against Queen’s Park.
Now, with October’s slate of fixtures already underway, it’s time to decide which of the following nominees deserves the Seven Wealth Player of the Month award for September:

ALLAN MCGRAW
Reflections from a Fan Representative Director - Allan McGraw

Next Month, the club’s AGM will mark the end of the first ever term for Fan Representative Directors. Although I could stand for re-election, after 4 years of Jags Foundation board membership, office volunteering and as a Fan Representative Director, I am minded not to seek re-election, to allow fresh blood into the role and if I am being honest, I owe my family. I have put a lot of time & effort into these 4 years and, often at the expense of my family life. It now feels the right time to redress that balance.

SCOTTISH MARCH OF THE DAY
Scottish March of the Day to visit Partick Thistle on Saturday

We are proud to be partnering with The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation and the My Name5 Doddie Foundation on their Scottish March of the Day, a continuous 146-mile fundraising walk around 22 football grounds in Scotland.
The Foundations will have a core team of 12 completing the full route in rotation which will include many former footballers and those whose lives have been impacted by Motor Neurone Disease which, of course, includes the Partick Thistle family as former Jags captain Don McVicar passed away from MND at the age of just 43 in 2006.
The walk, which starts at Motherwell’s Fir Park and finishes at the Doddie Weir statue at Murrayfield, will take just over two days to complete with The Wyre Stadium at Firhill due to visited between 06.40 and 07.25 on the morning of Saturday, October 11.
Everyone is welcome to come and show their support for the march at our ground early on Saturday morning with tea and coffee available in The Aiken Suite.
