LOAN

Oisin Smyth joins Partick Thistle on loan from St Mirren

Partick Thistle have added to their playing pool with St Mirren midfielder Oisin Smyth joining the Jags on a season-long loan from the Paisley club.

The 25 year old started his career at Dungannon Swifts and he was captain of the Northen Irish side before being transferred to English League One club Oxford United in January 2022.

Oisin spent two and a half years at Oxford before joining St Mirren with the under-21 internationalist scoring twice on his debut against Hibs last August before going on to make a total of 29 appearances, including five this season, and finding the net a further twice.

Wyre Stadium at Firhill Head Coach Mark Wilson said: “I am delighted to get a player of Oisin’s experience in at this time. He has had a very good grounding in the game and the skills that Oisin possesses will complement what we already have in the squad here.”

“Our Sporting Director Ian Baraclough knows him from their time together at Northern Ireland under-21’s. He was also a player I was aware of when I took on the Head Coach role here and I have been keeping an eye on him ever since.”

SEVEN WEALTH

Seven Wealth Player of the Month

Partick Thistle are delighted to announce a partnership with Seven Wealth for season 25-26 that sees the Glasgow based chartered wealth management company sponsor the men’s player of the month award.

Next Tuesday, voting via the club website and social media for the Seven Wealth Player of the Month for August will open, with the players nominated after discussions with Head Coach Mark Wilson and Assistant Head Coach Alex Rae.

Chris Cassidy, Director of Seven Wealth said: “I am delighted to be entering into this partnership with Partick Thistle to recognise the top performers on the pitch on a monthly basis. The Jags are no stranger to me and my family with my brother Paul being part of the first team squad in 2003-2005 so this is a really exciting opportunity.”

“There are great similarities between a successful football team and a sound financial planning strategy, and we take great pride in working closely with our clients to ensure their financial goals are met in the short, mid and longer term.”

Jim Cowell, Commercial Manager at Partick Thistle, added: “We are delighted to have Seven Wealth on board at the club and their backing of the Player of the Month Award is very welcome.”

“I am looking forward to seeing who wins next week.”

HOSPITALITY

Friday Night is Curry Night in Hospitality when Airdrieonians visit

Partick Thistle take on Airdrieonians, who are now managed by former Jags captain Danny Lennon, at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill on Friday, September 12, and we are delighted to provide details of our sparkling Hospitality offering against the Diamonds.

For this floodlight fixture we are offering a free drink on arrival, with doors to the Alan Rough Lounge in the Jackie Husband Stand opening at 5.00pm, before you are served with a one-course curry meal.

A member of the Men’s First Team Coaching staff will be on hand before kick-off to go through their thoughts on tackling Airdrie with the world’s greatest mascot Kingsley like to pop in at any time and cause some mayhem.

Just before the first whistle our guests will take their place in one of the padded seats in Jackie Husband Stand before returning to the Alan Rough Lounge for traditional football fayre at half-time.

At the end of the game you can again return to the Lounge where you will be able to be part of the post-match Player of the Match presentations.

The cost is £60 (plus VAT) for season ticket holders and £65 (plus VAT) for non-season ticket holders and bookings can be made by emailing [email protected]  or booking online @ Fanbase | Select Tickets

TJF

The Jags Foundation

Joining the ranks of The Jags Foundation this week is none other than Club Captain Lee Ashcroft. By becoming a member of TJF, Lee is helping secure the future of Partick Thistle.  TJF is the Club’s biggest single sponsor and since its inception has pledged almost half a million pounds to Partick Thistle.

As well as paying a monthly sub that will go towards TJF’s pledge commitments, Lee is now eligible to treat his family and friends to exclusive Jags Foundation merchandise such as limited edition pins and tote bags.

Merch can be posted to any UK address (and internationally by arrangement) but TJF is always pleased when members pop in to the Colin Weir foyer before a match to collect their goodies. This saves on postage costs and provides an opportunity for members to share what’s on their minds with representatives of the Foundation.

Pictured at the TJF collection table before the Raith Rovers game are newly-elected Board Members Simon Dickson & Ben Parker.

150TH ANNIVERSARY

‘Partick Thistle – a People’s History’

Next year, 2026, sees the 150th Anniversary of Partick Thistle Football Club. One of the many things planned for our anniversary year in 2026 will be a book commemorating the occasion.

Containing fan memories of first games, greatest heroes and family experiences, Partick Thistle A People’s History will be the story of the club as it has never been told before.

Alongside great photographs of memorabilia from fans and the club’s own archive, the book will span generations, from our oldest fans and players through to the present day and will include anecdotes from fans, players and other contributors.

The book will be a fantastic addition to any Thistle fan’s collection and a beautiful memory of our 150th Anniversary year.

So we’re looking for your stories:

· A first game or earliest memory of Thistle

· A family connection

· A piece of memorabilia that is important to you

· A special moment.

· Why Partick Thistle?

This could be shared through a written contribution or an interview that we could set up. This is a supporters’ book, made by the supporters, for the supporters.

One Club for all.
