A Look Back at Some Memorable Home Victories Over Raith Rovers
Raith Rovers - Firhill Awaits
March 2023 – Scottish Championship: Partick Thistle 3–0 Raith Rovers
In Kris Doolan's first match as permanent manager, Thistle ended Raith Rovers' 14-game unbeaten run with a commanding performance at Firhill. Scott Tiffoney opened the scoring just before half-time, Brian Graham added a second on 53 minutes, and Tiffoney sealed the win with his second goal, assisted by Steven Lawless. This victory extended Thistle's unbeaten streak under Doolan, who had been interim manager, to four matches and solidified their position in third place, just three points behind Dundee.
August 2022 – Scottish Championship: Partick Thistle 2–1 Raith Rovers
The Jags began their season with a hard-fought victory at Firhill. Scott Tiffoney struck early, finding the net inside three minutes. Steven Lawless doubled the lead before half-time, capitalizing on a defensive lapse. Although Raith's Ethan Ross pulled one back before the interval, Thistle's resilient defensive display ensured they secured all three points.
May 2011 – Scottish First Division: Partick Thistle 3–0 Raith Rovers
Partick Thistle ended their 2010/11 season in fifth place in the Championship with a 3-0 home success over a Kirkcaldy side that were runners-up to Fife neighbours Dunfermline Athletic. Thomas Stewart was denied by David McGurn in the first half but made no mistake five minutes after the restart, firing home to break the deadlock. Kris Doolan doubled the lead from the penalty spot after Mark Campbell brought down David Rowson in the area. Rowson put the result beyond doubt with a third goal in injury time, ensuring Thistle finished the season on a high.

KINGSLEY
Kingsley Appears on ‘A View from the Terrace’
Last Friday, the unmistakable face of Firhill, Kingsley, took centre stage on A View From the Terrace, much to the delight of Jags supporters everywhere. The iconic mascot—who, in our eyes, is simply the best in the business—was featured in a special segment alongside conceptual artist David Shrigley, the creative mind behind his unforgettable design.
David sat down with the production team to discuss the inspiration behind Kingsley, while a few familiar faces from The Wyre Stadium at Firhill also made an appearance to share their thoughts on our beloved bright-yellow enigma. With a shared passion for art at the heart of the discussion, it was a must-watch for both football and culture lovers alike.

GAME RECAP
Partick Thistle vs. Ayr United
Jags Take Huge Step in Play-off Race with Firhill Victory
Partick Thistle delivered a statement performance at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill, securing a massive 2-0 win over Ayr United to strengthen their push for the Championship title. The result extends their lead over Greenock Morton and Raith Rovers to seven points, with both having a game in hand, as the Jags continue to dictate the promotion battle.
With the stakes high, Thistle wasted no time imposing themselves on the game. On 20 minutes, Brian Graham’s brilliant backheel flick played in Logan Chalmers, who took a touch before rifling his shot past Josh Clarke to give the hosts an early lead.
Just seven minutes later, Firhill erupted again. A Chalmers free-kick was initially cleared by Ayr’s Lenny Agbaire, but the loose ball fell perfectly to Luke McBeth, who sent a stunning first-time finish into the net to double Thistle’s advantage.
Ayr, sitting third in the table, needed a response and made three changes at half-time, bringing on Cole McKinnon, Frankie Musonda, and Jay Henderson in an attempt to turn the tide. However, Thistle’s well-drilled defence remained in control, with Lewis Budinauckas barely tested.
The Jags nearly added a third on 68 minutes when Josh Reid unleashed a powerful strike that beat Clarke, only for Scott McMann to clear it off the line.
McBeth’s commanding display at both ends of the pitch earned him Man of the Match honours, and as the game wore on, Thistle managed proceedings with composure, ensuring a vital three points stayed in Maryhill.
The result not only strengthens Thistle’s play-off credentials but also extends their perfect record in Her Game Too dedicated fixtures, making it three wins from three in support of the campaign.
Full Time – Partick Thistle 2 Ayr United 0
With momentum firmly on their side, Thistle now turn their attention to Friday night’s clash with Raith Rovers, another huge test under the Firhill lights, live on BBC Scotland.

Match Recaps
Friday, 14th March 2025
Raith Rovers 2–0 Dunfermline Athletic
Raith Rovers kept their play-off hopes alive with a commanding Fife derby victory over Dunfermline. On-loan Hearts midfielder Finlay Pollock opened the scoring after 22 minutes, finishing well after a clever pass from Dylan Easton. Jamie Gullan had gone close early on, rattling the crossbar with a thunderous free-kick. Paul Hanlon doubled the lead in the second half, stabbing home his first goal for the club to seal a deserved three points. The win moves Raith to within four points of fourth-placed Thistle ahead of next week’s showdown at Firhill. Dunfermline remain in the relegation play-off spot, one point behind Hamilton. The Pars parted company with recently appointed manager Michael Tidser on Monday.
Saturday, 15th March 2025
Falkirk 4–0 Queen’s Park
Falkirk extended their lead at the top to eight points with a dominant display at Hampden, a result that saw Queen’s Park manager Callum Davidson dismissed minutes after the final whistle. Liam Henderson headed Falkirk in front just before half-time, before Gary Oliver, Calvin Miller, and Thomas Lang added second-half goals to wrap up a convincing win. Davidson, who masterminded Queen’s shock Scottish Cup win over Rangers last month, leaves the Spiders with just one league win in nine.
Airdrieonians 3–3 Livingston
Livingston’s title hopes took a hit as Airdrieonians snatched a late equaliser in a six-goal thriller at the Albert Bartlett Stadium. Dean McMaster and Ben Wilson twice put the hosts ahead, either side of a Robbie Muirhead free-kick. Livingston turned the game around in the second half, with Danny Wilson heading home from a Muirhead corner before Stephen Kelly curled in a superb effort to put the visitors in front. However, Liam McStravick bundled home late on to deny Livi a crucial three points.
Hamilton Academical 0–2 Greenock Morton
Two late goals saw Morton claim a vital win at New Douglas Park, keeping them firmly in the play-off hunt. Teenage substitute Cameron Keay broke the deadlock with a left-footed volley after 86 minutes, before Ali Crawford’s stoppage-time free-kick secured the points. The result lifts Morton back above Raith into fifth, while Hamilton remain just one point clear of Dunfermline in the relegation play-off battle.

POTM
Chalmers wins February McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month
Logan Chalmers was the landslide winner of February’s McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month, earning over 82% of the vote after a standout month.
The winger was instrumental throughout the month, scoring a late equaliser against Morton, grabbing a goal and assist at Falkirk, and delivering a Player of the Match display against Livingston, where he set up Brian Graham’s opener.
Chalmers said: “It’s been a tough month, but I’ve just focused on contributing however I can. The Livingston game felt like a step forward, and we need to keep improving.”
As part of the award, McCrea Financial Services will make a charitable donation to Cancer Research UK, Chalmers' chosen charity.

Logan started March with a bang as well with goals in the wins over Queen’s Park and Ayr United!
