Volunteer of the Month for April!

Partick Thistle are delighted to recongise 50/50 Ticket seller Ian Bateman as their Volunteer of the Month for April!

Ian has volunteered at the club for over 20 years and has grown a loyal customer base who seek him out at every home game to purchase their 50/ 50 ticket giving them the chance to win a cash prize whilst helping to raise funds for the club.

Supporter Liaison Officer Norman Wilson reckons that Ian’s sales technique is the reason behind his recognition as he explained: “We are fortunate to have a hard-working group of 50/50 sellers however Ian is undoubtedly one of the funniest people at the club. His humour is reflected in his ability to sell the tickets and I am sure fans have bought one thanks to his jokes after coming to a game with no thought of buying one.”

“His pitch is at the top of McParland Way and I am sure he is the main reason for people coming round from there to The Jackie Husband Stand with smiles on their faces.”

Ian, who receives a meal voucher as his prize, said: “It is nice to be recognised in this way by the supporters who nominated me and the club. I am fairly sure that when I started, I never thought I would still be selling 50/ 50 tickets twenty years later.”

“But here I am and I suppose I will continue until I run out of jokes and stories.”

Club General Manager Levi Gill said: “Ian is another of the unsung heroes at the club that The Volunteer of the Month programme is helping to recognise. He does a terrific job and does it with a smile on his face whilst also putting a smile on other people’s faces.”

UPDATE

Update on Commemorative Tiles at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill

The club would like to advise that the display areas of Commemorative Tiles in both the Jackie Husband Stand and the John Lambie Stand are close to being full.

We would advise fans who wish to have a tile, in either of these areas, to contact the club in early course.

Once these areas are full, new displays will be created in both stands however tiles will not be affixed to the walls until there are sufficient numbers to surround a centre piece tile.
