GREENOCK MORTON

Next Up: Partick Thistle vs Greenock Morton

Saturday 9 August | The Wyre Stadium at Firhill | 3:00 PM

The first home league match of the 2025/26 William Hill Championship season sees Partick Thistle welcome Greenock Morton to The Wyre Stadium at Firhill.

After kicking off the campaign on the road, Mark Wilson’s side will be looking to make Firhill a fortress once again, backed by a big Red and Yellow crowd in Maryhill.

Morton make the short trip from Inverclyde aiming to build on their own start to the season where they drew with Dunfermline, but the Jags will be determined to take all three points and lay down an early marker in front of the home faithful.

Recent meetings between the sides have served up plenty of drama, and with both teams eager to make a statement in the early weeks, another lively contest is in store this Saturday.

Let’s take a look back at the last memorable clash between the Jags and the Ton…

William Hill Championship | Saturday 29 March 2025 | Cappielow Park, Greenock

A disciplined, determined display from the Jags secured all three points in Inverclyde, stretching the unbeaten run under the interim management team of Brian Graham and Mark Wilson to six matches.

After a tight, goalless first half, the breakthrough came in the 74th minute. Kyle Turner delivered a pinpoint free-kick from the right, and Daniel O’Reilly rose highest to glance a header beyond the Morton goalkeeper and into the net — sparking wild celebrations in the packed away end.

The Jags saw out the closing stages with composure, defending solidly to preserve the clean sheet and claim a vital victory in the push for the play-offs.

It was a result that not only consolidated fourth place in the Championship table but also underlined the team’s growing resilience and togetherness.

The stage is set for another Firhill cracker this weekend. Let’s get behind the team and roar the Jags on to our first home league win of the season!

PTW SEASON

PTW Season 2025/26

It’s been a summer of change for Partick Thistle WFC, but an exciting new chapter in the ongoing story of this fast growing Club is about to begin.

Season 2025-26 sees David Elliot as our new Head Coach assisted by Craig Potter.

The new faces aren’t just limited to the technical area. Already six new signings have been made, joining those who had renewed their commitment to the Club for another season.

Included among those exciting new signings is Scotland’s most capped outfield player Jo Love.

One constant however, is you, the fans and a group of players playing for those colours you love.

So get behind the women in Red and Yellow and buy a Season Ticket.

We can’t wait for the new season to start and the next adventure for Partick Thistle WFC to unfold and you can have a front row seat at Petershill Park to watch it all.

KINGSLEY

Kingsley’s Birthday Party Playlist for this Saturday, August 9

The world’s greatest mascot, Partick Thistle’s Kingsley, turned ten years old recently and the club want to mark the occasion on Saturday when Greenock Morton visit The Wyre Stadium at Firhill.

As part of the celebrations we have asked Kingsley to make up a playlist of songs he wishes played ahead of kick-off and in turn he has asked the fans to help with his selections.

If you would like to suggest a song that captures the spirit of the mascot, who despite being created by conceptual artist David Shrigley, was once described as a bad drawing of Lisa Simpson, please email your choice to [email protected].
