ARBROATH
Next Up: Partick Thistle VS Arbroath
Saturday 4th October | Wyre Stadium at Firhill | 3:00 PM
The Jags return to Maryhill this weekend as Mark Wilson’s side welcome Arbroath for another key William Hill Scottish Championship clash.
With the season starting to take shape, every point is precious, and Thistle will be eager to keep momentum going in front of the Red and Yellow Army. The Wyre Stadium at Firhill has been a difficult place for visiting sides already this campaign, and the squad will be determined to ensure it remains that way as the month of October begins.
The visitors, managed by David Gold and Colin Hamilton, will arrive fighting for every ball as they look to climb the table, but Wilson’s men know the importance of stamping their authority on home turf. With attacking flair and defensive resilience on show in recent weeks, the Jags will be targeting another strong display to keep the push towards the top end of the Championship.
The Thistle faithful have played a huge part in the team’s performances so far this season, and a big home support once again could make all the difference this Saturday.
The Jags will take plenty of confidence from their last meeting with the Red Lichties on Saturday 23rd March 2024, when a clinical finish from Aidan Fitzpatrick secured all three points at Gayfield Park.
Fitzpatrick’s low strike from inside the box after just 15 minutes proved decisive on a blustery afternoon on the Angus coast. Thistle might have had more, with Kerr McInroy and Scott Robinson both seeing goals chalked off and another effort coming back off the post, but one was enough to seal victory.
That result extended the Jags’ unbeaten run at Gayfield to five matches and underlined the side’s ability to grind out results in tough conditions. It also consolidated Thistle’s grip on the play-off positions, a reminder of how valuable a single moment of quality can be in tight Championship encounters.
The Maryhill men will be looking to draw on that same clinical edge and defensive steel when the sides meet again at Firhill this weekend.

TJF
Half A Million Reasons Why Partick Thistle Needs TJF

Wednesday 1st October 2025 marked an important milestone at Partick Thistle, and for The Jags Foundation.
Two pledge payments were made yesterday by TJF: £12,500 to the Football Club and £2,000 to the Youth Academy and these payments brought the total financial support, provided by TJF’s members, to just over £505k since they were first founded.
This includes over £447k to the Club, £46k to the Youth Academy and over £12k to PTWFC.
Without this support, building our football club for the future would have been a far harder task.
So thank you, to each and every member who has helped to make this possible.
There are now more than Half A Million Reasons why Partick Thistle is stronger with TJF.

SEAN MCARDLE
Sean McArdle joins on loan from Celtic

“We’re delighted to add Sean to our squad for this season. He’s a very talented young midfielder who has been playing regular Lowland League football for a couple of seasons now.
“He’s calm and composed on the ball and has that creativity in possession to go and create goals, either by scoring himself or by setting up his teammates.
“We’ve already had Josh Clarke and Ben McPherson come in on loan from Celtic and make a real impact and I’m confident Sean can do similar.”

HOSPITALITY
Cairnhill 1921 Chairman’s Lounge

We are pleased to offer a different kind of Hospitality Offering on Match Days – The Cairnhill 1921 Chairman’s Lounge which is situated in the Colin Weir Stand at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill.

The under-21’s are playing Gibraltar at Dundee’s Dens Park next Thursday, October 9 and then travelling to Azerbaijan for a game on Tuesday, October 14 with the under-19’s heading to Italy for two friendlies.
As we only have two players away on international duty on this occasion our William Hill Championship match against Greenock Morton on October 11 will go ahead as planned however Ben and Sean will not be available for selection by Partick Thistle Head Coach Mark Wilson.

TJF
Bring a Friend!

Many fans will have seen that, as part of the Jags For Generations Season Ticket add-on package, supporters were eligible to receive two “bring-a-friend” tickets for league fixtures in the 2025-26 season.
As a gesture of gratitude from the Club for their fundraising efforts, we are delighted to confirm that all current TJF members will, separately, be eligible to receive one bring-a-friend ticket for this season as well.
This can be redeemed ahead of any of the remaining 15 home matches in the regulation SPFL William Hill Championship season.
