SATURDAY = QUEEN’S PARK
Next Up: Partick Thistle vs Queen’s Park
Saturday 1st November | The Wyre Stadium at Firhill | 3:00 PM
The Jags return home this weekend as Mark Wilson’s men look to get back on track when they welcome familiar city rivals Queen’s Park to The Wyre Stadium at Firhill in the William Hill Scottish Championship.
Last Saturday’s trip to Stark’s Park ended in frustration, as Raith Rovers took a 2–0 win in Fife. It was a disappointing afternoon that brought an end to Thistle’s impressive ten–match unbeaten run and saw the Maryhill side slip three points behind St Johnstone at the top of the table.
Despite the setback, belief remains strong within the Thistle camp. Wilson’s men have shown resilience all season — and they’ll look to channel that same determination in front of the Red and Yellow Army this weekend. With Firhill behind them, the Jags will be eager to set the tone early, rediscover their attacking edge, and put pressure back on the league leaders.
Queen’s Park make the short trip across the city sitting in the middle of the table and keen to build momentum of their own. They’ll be well aware of the challenge that awaits — and of the atmosphere that comes with a Glasgow derby at Firhill — but the Jags will be determined to dictate the tempo and take the initiative on home turf.
With plenty on the line and the support of the Red and Yellow faithful ringing around the Wyre Stadium, Wilson’s side will look to respond in the best possible manner — with a performance full of intensity, composure, and purpose.
The last meeting between the sides in September was a tight, hard–fought affair — and one decided by a moment of quality.
Just seven minutes in, Logan Chalmers drifted into space on the right and whipped in a superb delivery, met perfectly by Tony Watt, who guided his header beyond Calum Ferrie to give Thistle an early lead at the City Stadium.
From there, the Jags showed real organisation and mettle. Ben Stanway battled tirelessly in the centre of the park, while Dan O’Reilly and Josh Clarke stood firm to handle everything Queen’s Park threw forward. There were chances late on to double the advantage — Watt came close to a second — but in the end, the early strike proved enough to seal a disciplined 1–0 win and send the Jags home with all three points.
That night showed what this Thistle side can produce when intensity and sharpness meet purpose.

SEVEN WEALTH PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Seven Wealth Player of the Month for October

October threw up a challenging five-game schedule for Partick Thistle but Mark Wilson’s side came out of the other end of it in a good place, sitting in 2nd in the Championship with eight points added to their total.
It ended with a frustrating defeat at Stark’s Park but that loss was preceded by two hard-fought draws against Arbroath and Greenock Morton as well as a pair of home victories over Ross County and Ayr United.
Now, it’s time to decide who was the pick of the bunch last month and deserves the Seven Wealth Player of the Month award!
